Tamara Downs Schwei has served as MBOLD Project Manager at GREATER MSP for three years: co-managing entrepreneurship programs, facilitating communications and events, and managing implementation of MBOLD’s plant protein and agriculture resilience efforts. She brings more than 20 years of experience advancing resilient, inclusive food and agriculture systems and community health. Previously, she led the City of Minneapolis’ Homegrown Minneapolis initiative for eight years, deploying more than $2.5 million for farmers markets, food entrepreneurs and hunger relief and expanding City land access and infrastructure for urban agriculture. She also served six years as Executive Director of Urban Roots in St. Paul. Tamara holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School and a B.A. in Communications and Spanish from the College of Saint Benedict.
