Roman Plewka is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Formo, the European leader in precision fermentation for dairy. Formo develops high-value, animal-free, bio-identical milk proteins that outperform the functionality of conventional dairy, using biotechnology to build climate-resilient biomanufacturing infrastructure and create resilient food systems globally. Under Roman’s leadership, Formo has raised more than €135 million in funding, including a $61m Series B and a €35m venture debt facility from the European Investment Bank, launched products with leading European retailers, and built the commercial roadmap for its technology platforms. Before co-founding Formo, he helped build and back food and biotech ventures as CFO and Venture Partner at reputable VC firms FoodLabs and Atlantic Labs, bringing a strong combination of entrepreneurial, financial and operational experience to the future of dairy.
