Kristof Brijs
Kristof Brijs received his M.Sc. (1997) and PhD (2001) degrees in Applied Biological Sciences from KU Leuven (Belgium). From 2001 to 2006, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Food Chemistry and Biochemistry (KU Leuven). Since 2006, Kristof is employed as an Innovation Manager at KU Leuven. He strongly focuses on the translation of fundamental insights in the field of cereal science and technology to more industrially applicable concepts to improve product quality and processing efficiency. As such, he builds new and strengthens existing partnerships between the KU Leuven research group (members) and industrial partners.
Kristof is an (co-)author of more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and supervised as the main or co-supervisor more than 20 PhDs. He has extensive experience with multi-partner projects as well as with collaboration with industry by executing (bilateral) research contracts.
