Alie de Boer
Dr. Alie de Boer is Associate Professor of Nutrition and Food Information at Maastricht University’s Food Claims Research Centre. Her work focuses on how scientific evidence is generated and used in food policy and legislation—particularly in the areas of food safety, nutrition, and sustainability. She aims to support fair, safe, healthy, and sustainable food choices by ensuring that food information is accessible, understandable, and rooted in science.
Within the MoSIN project, Alie leads Work Package 2 on post-market monitoring of novel and innovative foods, helping to ensure that new food products remain safe and effective after entering the market. She is an active contributor to several international research consortia and has co-authored over 50 scientific publications. Through her research and engagement, she works to strengthen evidence-based policymaking and contribute to a more sustainable and trustworthy food system.
